RadiusXR, Glaukos and Topcon Announce Collaboration and the Launch of Inspire

The new partnership is designed to bring RadiusXR’s wearable ophthalmic screening solution to the global market.

Three ophthalmic companies, including global giants Glaukos Corporation (California, United States) and Topcon Healthcare (California, United States) have joined forces to bring RadiusXR’s (California, United States) wearable glaucoma screening to the mainstream.

On March 11, the three companies jointly announced a new collaboration and the launch of Inspire, a lightweight, wearable visual field testing platform developed by RadiusXR.1

This collaboration brings together RadiusXR’s vision testing technology, Topcon Healthcare’s expertise in digital diagnostics and Glaukos’ focus on expanding access to visual field exams for patients with glaucoma.

“By intelligently combining data from the new Inspire wearable vision testing platform with our robotic diagnostics on the Harmony digital health information platform, we are furthering our Healthcare from the Eye initiative with a truly dynamic digital healthcare ecosystem,” said Ali Tafreshi, CEO and president of Topcon.

A partnership with global reach

Under the collaboration, Topcon Healthcare will serve as the exclusive global distributor of Inspire, expanding its reach worldwide. The company will work closely with RadiusXR and Glaukos to drive commercialization, research and education efforts, reinforcing its efforts to bring wearable diagnostics to a larger patient population.

“We are pleased to partner with Topcon Healthcare to strengthen commercialization efforts for the RadiusXR technology and expand patient access to the Inspire platform,” said Thomas Burns, chairman and CEO of Glaukos.

“This collaboration aligns with our mission to meaningfully advance the standard of care in glaucoma and improve outcomes by democratizing visual field testing and access to the digital tools needed to enable effective patient care worldwide.”

Ammad Khan, CEO of RadiusXR, said: “By integrating our advanced wearable platform with Topcon Healthcare’s imaging solutions and Glaukos’ focus on patient engagement, we are delivering a truly connected and accessible diagnostic ecosystem that empowers clinicians and expands access to critical vision care.”

What is RadiusXR?

Inspire by RadiusXR is described by the company as the only commercially available wearable vision diagnostic system that integrates visual field testing, onboard patient education and AI-powered data intelligence.

Weighing just six ounces, the device is designed with future expansion in mind, moving beyond conventional diagnostics to support testing for other chronic and systemic conditions.

While the collaboration is still in its early stages, the companies are positioning Inspire as a tool that could help reshape how visual field testing is conducted worldwide.
