The companies aim to deliver high-quality ophthalmic blades to eye surgeons in the United States.
Microsurgical Technology (MST; Washington, United States) announced a new strategic partnership with medical device manufacturer Mani Inc. (Tochigi, Japan), making MST the exclusive distributor of Mani’s ophthalmic surgical blades in the United States.
The agreement also marks the launch of Mani Medical America, a newly established U.S. subsidiary of Mani Inc., aimed at supporting the brand’s expansion and operational presence in the American market.

As part of the deal, MST will expand into the U.S. ophthalmic custom kit packing market, integrating Mani’s products into a broader offering that includes blades, cannulas and other disposable instruments.
“We are thrilled to form this strategic alliance with Mani Inc. and Mani Medical America,” said Erik Bror Bonn, chief business officer of Microsurgical Technology, in a company statement. “Mani’s premier surgical blade portfolio aligns perfectly with MST’s commitment to delivering high-quality, innovative products that meet the distinct clinical needs of surgeons.”
The company says this move will provide ophthalmic surgeons with expanded access to high-quality surgical blades used in a variety of procedures, including cataract surgery, corneal surgery and glaucoma treatments.

Bonn noted that while MST remains focused on supporting complex cataract procedures, this partnership broadens the company’s reach across ophthalmic specialties.
“We are now expanding that support by providing our customers with high-quality products for their every case need. This partnership will enable us to offer even more cutting-edge surgical instruments and custom solutions to our customers, ensuring they have the devices they need to provide their patients with high levels of care,” he said.
