The latest version of the IOL calculator improves on its predecessor with features shaped by surgeon feedback.
Rayner (Worthing, United Kingdom) has given its IOL calculator an ophthalmologist-guided makeover with the release of RayTrace 4.0.
According to the company, this latest iteration uses feedback from surgeons around the globe to deliver quicker and more user-friendly calculations, alongside several new features.
So, what’s new? The latest update introduces several improvements designed to streamline the surgical planning process.
With the new single-page calculation view, surgeons can handle both eyes at once, simplifying workflow and saving time. Toric and non-toric results are now accessible in one unified calculation, which reduces the need for repetitive steps.
The theatre view has been revamped for improved usability, ensuring a smoother experience during procedures. Additionally, there’s a new feature allowing surgeons to input post-operative refractive data, which opens up more options for tracking and tweaking patient outcomes.
RayTrace 4.0 also now supports the RayOne Galaxy spiral IOL, and it integrates with RayPRO, Rayner’s platform for patient-reported outcomes. With all these new updates, Rayner aims to provide surgeons a more connected and efficient way to manage patient care.
Stanley Windsor, head of Digital Health at Rayner, said: “We’re delighted to kick off 2025 by bringing our new and improved RayTrace tool to surgeons around the world. Thank you to our dedicated group of KOLs who provided valuable feedback to inform the redesign – the latest features will really improve usability for surgeons to ensure quick, clear calculations. We look forward to seeing the impact of RayTrace 4.0 as we continue to drive digital innovation in ophthalmology this year.”
